1st Kuching Trade-O-Ree 2006

The 1st Kuching Trade-O-Ree organized by the Kuching City Rover Council has been a great success. There were more than 1100 badges, 200 scarfs, 10 uniforms, books, key chains, posters etc on display. There were an estimated number of 500 visitors an a reporter from International TImes (Guo Ji) covering the event.

10 scouts have participated in the logo drawing competition with the participants from 23rd, 5th and 40th Kuching Scout Group. The winners of the competition are;

3rd Prize: Aaron Poh (5th Kuching Scout Group)Dscn3484 

2nd Prize: Hoon Yee (23rd Kuching Scout Group) Dscn3485_1

Champion: Andy Lee Min (23rd Kuching Scout Group)Dscn3486 

All winners received a trophy as well as a special edition of the Trade-O-Ree event badge with bronze, silver and gold border embroidery.

6 junior scouts from 14th Kuching Scout Group were qualified for the collectors badge. The evaluation was carried out by ADC Ng Ah Luke.

The council wished to expressed our deepest appreciation to;

Sponsors, International Commissioner, Deputy Chief State Commissioner, State commissioners / Assistant State Dscn3442commissioners, District Commissioners, all ADCs, leaders and participants for their support and assistance throughout the event. The committee also wished to thank IC Mr. Geoffrey Teo, DCSC Pak Said, Mr. Henry Tan (Singapore), ASC Mr. Iu Cho Heng, ADC Mr. Joseph Tan, ADC Mr. Ng Ah Luke, Mr. Stanley, Mr. Stephen Kwong and Mr. Chong Lim who have rendered their collections for our exhibitions.

The TV show on recent Rover Moot, collectors and venture camps were also Dscn3458drawing a large crowd. With the help from ADC Joseph Tan, dressed in Korean Scout Uniforms, he presented the nostlagia from the recent 2nd Korean International Patrol Jamboree.

Various badges and collectibles have been put on sale as well as auctions. Dscn3443

Scout Day 2006

Dear All

The state level has organized the Scout Day celebration on 3/9/2006 (sunday). Dscn3210 All nearby districts have been invited to attend the said celebration. Rambu award was also presented to those who have Dscn3232 completed the training scheme.

1 Senior Scout Rambu Award

10 Rover Scout Rambu Award (with 9 receipients from 14th Kuching Scout Group and 1 from Air Rover Crew, Matang District). Dscn3238

Trade-O-Ree Badges up for grabs

Dear all,

The Kuching Trade-O-Ree Badges are now available for grabs.

Tor_2006_rev2The price for this magificent badge (with total 9 colours and full embroidery) is RM5/- only; inclusive of a ticket for the lucky draw sessions which may win you more attractive badges. Very Limited stock (Only approximately 100 pcs left as at 22/09/06).

As confirmed by the committee, currently we are having close to 1100 pcs of badges around the world, 100 pins, 150 different scarfs, 30 various scout uniforms, camp fire ropes and lots more for the exhibition. It would definitely be an eye opening experience for all your scouts. Tell your friends about it and bring them along. A very rare chance which you may get to see such a huge volume of different scout collectibles and memoribillias.

3 scouts from 23rd Kuching Scout Group, 2 from 5th Kuching Scout Group and another 2 scouts from 40th Kuching Scout Group bringing the total of 7 scouts are participating in the logo design (drawing) competition as to date. The winners will not only receive trophies but also a prestigeous, one of its kind event, badge with gold, silver and bronze thread embroidered borders. Only 1 set of these special badges in Malaysia (even the whole world) is produced with high quality and value. Hurry! we are still accepting your participation in the competition.
