Woodbadge (Module C) Course

Dear fella Rovers,

The Woodbadge Course (Module C) has been postponed to 19 ~ 21 January 2007.Scout_woodbadge_beads1

Venue: Scout Headquarters, Jalan Batu Lintang.

Those who have completed the followings are eligible to join the said course;

1, Completed Woodbadge Stage 3 under the old woodbadge Training Scheme.

Or

2, Attended and completed Module B and attachement trainings under the new Woodbadge Training Scheme.

The fees for the said course is RM80/- which is inclusive of the food and the course notes. Participation form (MS Word format) can be downloaded from:

5th Asia Pacific Scout Photo Contest 2007

Dear Fella Rovers,

Scouts, Rovers and Scout Leaders in National Scout Organizations (NSO) within the Asia Pacific Region (APR) are invited to join the 5th Asia Pacific Scout Photo Contest 2007. V4 

Rules

What pictures?  V1_1 

Photo shots showing various aspects of Scouting: Jamborees and field activities, skills and training, community work and services, etc. conveying the theme Scouting as a Social Force. Film or digital cameras may be used. Ideal resolution is 300 ppi for digital photos. Maximum print out size is A4.

Who can participate?

Scouts and Scout Leaders registered with respective NSO in the region.

Where to send?

To the World Scout Bureau / Asia Pacific Regional Office through NSO in the V2 country. In our case, we shall register and forward to the district  and to be forwarded to the state HQ. The photos have to be endorsed by the national representative in national HQ.

Who selects the winner?

An international panel of judges comprised of renowned photographers based in Japan. The awarding will be held in Japan during the 22nd APR Conference in October 2007.

What are the prizes?

V3 Plaques for 1 Gold Price, 2 Silver Prizes and 3 Bronze Prizes will be given. Winning entries will grace the APR posters for 2008. The 6 winning entries and 6 other finalists will be featured at the 2008 APR calendar.

Notes

1, All photo entries shall not be returned.

2, The right to use the photos for publication, exhibition and other Scout activities belongs to WOSM and its members.

3, Each photo must have an Entry Form properly filled up and attached to the photo. Email kch_rover_scout@yahoo.com to request for participation forms.

Kuching City Rover Council

18th Kuching District Camp

The 18th Kuching District Camp has been organized in "Sun Moon Star Farm" from 10th ~ 13th November 2006. It has been a great success under the dynamic leadership of ADC Sim Tik Wee, the organizing chairman. The District camp has drawn around 300 campers from the districts with more than 60 helpers and staffs.

Combined 

Many activities have been organized which includes the obstacle course, hiking, recycling project, camp fire and many more. The camp was officially declared open by the Chief State Commissioner, YB Datuk Hj. Wan Junaidi B. Tuanku Jaffar. Later on, he who is accompanied by the District Commissioner, Mr. Charles Yeo and also the camp staffs inspected the camps. A lot of hard work has been put into the organizing of this district camp. To ADC Sim Tik Wee and his committee, SYABAS!!

11th Malaysian National Jamboree

Dear fella rovers;

The National Scout Association (Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia) is organizing the 11th Malaysian National Jamboree on 12th ~ 19th December 2006 at Ulu Bendol Recreational Forest, Negeri Sembilan State, Malaysia.

The details of the events are as follows;

Dates: 12th ~ 19th December 2006

Venue: Ulu Bendol Recreational Forest, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia

Theme: Scouts Genertate Universal Unity

Backpack Major Activities: Various activities are being planned to be carried out during the Jambroee. Competitions based activities, recreation and intra-community activities. Examples of various activties are as follow;

Competition: Arch Building Competitions.

Sports: Patan que, Handball.

Culture / Arts: Tumbuk Kalang, Cak Lempong, Endang Dance, Saucer Dance.

Recreation: Climbing Mount Angsi, Canoeing, River Trekking, Abseiling, Rafting.

Traditional Games: Sepak Raga Bulat, Ketinting, Galah Panjang, Pukul Gopong, Backwood Cooking, Blowpipe.

Other Activities: Amateur Radio, Social Service, Home Stay Program, Getting to Know One Another, Teenagers Forum, Indaba, Cultural Night, Gilwell Reunion.
