4th District Rover Council Meeting Year 2007

Dear brothers and sisters in Rovering;

Please be informed that the 4th Kuching District Rover Council Meeting for the year 2007 shall be organized at the venue stated below;

Venue: Scout HQ, Jalan Batu Lintang
Time: 8:00p.m.
Date: 25/05/2007 (Friday)
Attire: Casual

All Rovers / Rover leaders are expected to present themselves for the meeting and preparation for the centenary exhibition and fund raising badge sale this weekend. Rovers are requested to assist the preparation of exhibits and also the price tagging on the badges and items for sale. Final briefings and duty roster shall be arranged for Rovers on duty.

Attention: Person in charge of the Rovers’ exhibits and Fund Raising Badge Sale are required to brief the members on the control procedures, duty roster, operating procedures and arrangements on the exhibition day itself.

Centenary Exhibition Coming Up this Weekend

The Scout Centenary Exhibition will be coming up this Saturday and Sunday (26~27/05/2007) in Kuching Waterfront. All scouts and guides are welcomed to the event in conjunction with the world celebration of 100th year of scouting. Please refer to the earlier post for details.

The Kuching City Rover Council is participating with the setting up of exhibition booth for Rover Section as well as the badge sale. Funds generated from the badge sale will be used to subsidise the X-treme Challenge 2007 - Kota Kinabalu at the end of the year. Many wonderful badges and items are available for sale at relatively cheap price. There are also many colourful embroidered book marks, woggles, telephone straps and splendid badges from countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong and many more. This is the best time to buy many wonderful badges for personal collection and also for swapping purposes. Hurry up! Limited quantity available. There are also limited badges which are on sale on specific days so make sure you don’t miss out the exhibition on both days. Do drop by even if you don’t buy.

We are proud to annouce that we are producing the first ever LEATHER badge in Malaysia and available for sale as well on the event day. This leather badge is made from genuine bull’s leather to commemorate 50 years of nationhood and also 100 years of world scouting. This limited collectors’ leather badge can be used as collection and memoribillia, a coaster for your glass, looks nice on your camp fire rope and certainly make your jeans looks special if you sew it on.

3rd District Rover Council Meeting Year 2007

Dear brothers and sisters in Rovering;

Please be informed that the 3rd Kuching District Rover Council Meeting for the year 2007 shall be organized at the venue stated below;

Venue: Scout HQ, Jalan Batu Lintang
Time: 8:00p.m.
Date: 16/05/2007 (Wednesday)
Attire: Full uniform

All Rovers / Rover Leaders are welcomed to join the meeting. Compulsory attendance is expected from those rovers who are going for the Rover Scout Training Scheme. However, those who are having exams starting from 17/5/2007 may be excused from the meeting.

1, X-treme Challenge 2007 - Kota Kinabalu
2, Centenary exhibition - exhibits
3, Centenary exhibition - badge sale for fund raising
4, Any other businesses

To the Rover Leaders / Rovers:
Please bring along all acitivity pictures of your Rovers in softcopies so that we can compile them to be presented as slide show during the centenary exhibition and for the banner printing. Kindly save and burn into a CD. Thank you.

Woodbadge Induction Course 2007

Woodbadge Induction Course has been successfully conducted on 15/04/2007 in SMK Kuching High. A total of 35 partcipants (including 12 ladies) from Zone A, have registered and participated in the said course. The course leader for the said course is Mr. Stephen Kwong from Kuching City and assisted by a pool of competent trainers from Zone A training team and the State Training Team. The organizing committee is as shown below;

Total: 35 participants (with 23 male participants and 12 female participants).

Various topics have been conducted which includes gerneral introduction to scouting movement and general group administration and management. They are the second batch in Sarawak to embark on the new modular woodbadge training scheme. The Kuching City Rover Council would like to record our heartiest congratulations to them.I1
