Scouts Around - A new event which is planned and organized to foster the relationship among leaders and rovers. The first event coming up is to organize a day hiking trip to Kampung Benggu. The followings are the program and detailed information for the event.
Scouts Around - Jungle Trekking
Who: Open to all Rovers / Leaders / Commissioners in Kuching District
Organizer: ASC Iu Cho Heng
Date: 09/03/2008 (Sunday)
Time: 12:00p.m.
Venue: Meet in Scout headquarter, Batu Lintang (Car pool), depart for Kampung Benggu, Kota Padawan.
What to wear: T-shirts with shorts/pants, hiking shoes, cap
What to bring: Drinking water, camera, extra t-shirts and pants/shorts to change after swimming in a nearby waterfall, slippers/flip-flop, biscuits, chocolates and some candies (to distribute to the children at the Kampung).
What to expect: 2 hours hike, pitcher plants, getting wet, monkey bridge 20m above the stream, friendly kampung people, mouth watering kampung style cuisine and lots of fun. (who knows you may even catch a glimpse of monkeys in the wild)
How much: RM30 per person (including the hike and a dinner)
RM15 per person (for those who do not wish to go for the jungle trekking).
Family members are encouraged to participate.
Program:
12:00p.m. : Meet in HQ/car pool
12:15p.m. : Depart for Kampung Benggu, Kota Padawan
1:15p.m. : Trekking towards waterfall
3:15p.m. : Reach waterfall, swimming, picnic
4:00p.m. : Trek back to the assembly point
6:00p.m. : Reach assembly point / rest
6:30p.m. : Dinner
8:00p.m. : Return to HQ
8:45p.m. : Sayonara
