3rd Malaysian Rover Moot

The third Malaysian Rover Moot will be organized by the Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia (PPM) on the date and venue stated below;

 

Date: 23rd to 27th July 2009

 

Registration: 3:00p.m. on 23/07/09 (Thursday)

 

Venue: Kem Tengku Mahkota, Bandar Tun Razak, Jengka, Pahang

 

Camp fee: RM100 (inclusive of food, moot kit and a day visit to the national park

 

Activities: Pioneering projects, extreme activities and testing of new rover scout training scheme.

 

Equipment: Participants are required to bring their own tents, camping tools and equipment.

 

Eligibility: Rovers and leaders aged between 17½ and above

Raimuna (Rover Moot) Bengkalis, Riau, Indonesia

The Riau Scout Council (Kwartir Daerah Riau) will be organizing a Rover Moot on the date and venue stated below;

 

Date: 28th June to 5th July 2009

 

Venue: Bumi Perkhemahan Pawang Perkasa, Pulau Bengkalis, Riau

 

Camp fees:    RM150 (Rovers)

                        RM100 (Leaders)

Camp fees is inclusive of food throughout the camp as well as transportation to and fro the wharf (Perlabuhan Bengkalis) to the camp site

 

Equipment: All participants are expected to bring their own camps and equipment.

 

Transportation: Ferry fares and port duty from Melaka wharf (Perlabuhan Melaka) to Bengkalis Island shall be bonded by respective participant.

New Woodbadge Training Scheme

The new woodbadge training scheme has been announced and launched during the 1st national taining team meeting for year 2009. The grace period for the conversion from the old stages system and modular system to the new stages system is as shown below;

 

1. Stage 4B (old stages system - sistem peringkat) – the thesis shall be submitted before 30/06/2009. Any submission after the said date will deem invalid whereby certificate will no longer be issued.

 

2. All certificates issued for old stages (peringkat) system and modular (modul)system will deem invalid after the date mentioned below. Certificates issued previously will no longer be submitted as an evidence for the courses attended.

A, All certificates issued for old stages system including Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 4A, Stage 4B is only valid until 31/12/2010.

 

B, All certificates issued for old modular system including Induction, Module A, B, C and D is only valid until 31/12/2010.

 

C, All certificates issued for the combination of old stages system and modular system are only valid until 31/12/2010.

 

3, From 1/1/2011 onwards, only full certificates obtained from all the new stages system (sistem peringkat baru) will be recognized and processed.

Boat Handling Course

 

 

 

The Malaysian Red Crescent Society, Sarawak Branch will be jointly organizing a boat handling course with the Civil Defense Department (Jabatan Pertahanan Awam) on 5th July 2009 (Sunday) from 9:00a..m. to 5:30p.m. at Waterfront, Kuching.

 

Attire: Casual Wear

Fees: RM5 (to cover meal and drinks)

 

Rovers are invited to participate in the said course whereby you will be taught on the following items;

1, Introduction and safety precautions

2, Proper way to handle boats

3, Wind direction

4, Engine, its parts, horse power and maintenance

5, Current and water flow

6, Simulation - Practical

 

An exam will be conducted at the end of the course and qualified candidates will be awarded a certificate from the said department.
