Induction To Amateur Radio Workshop
An Introduction To Amateur Radio Workshop has been organized successfully by the Kuching City Rover Council on 4th October 2009 (Sunday) from 8:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. The workshop is also supported by the members from the Amateur Radio Club (ARCS). A total number of 50 Rovers and Leaders as well as 6 members from the Red Creasant Society have benefitted from the workshop whereby they were introducted to the ham radio activities throughout the world. The workshop is also part of the effort in the organizing as well as participation in the coming 52nd World Scout Jamboree On The Air which shall be organized from 17th to 18th October 2009 (Saturday - Sunday). All groups in Kuching have confirmed their particpation whereby the arranged time slots for participation shall be announced to facilitate the huge number of participants in the event.
The Kuching City Rover Council would also like to thank the President of Amateur Radio Club Sarawak (ARCS), Mr. Allan Ming Addie as well as the club members for their generous supports in making the event a success. Hopefully with this induction course, the hobby of ham radio will be induced among the scout members as part of the rovering activities.
